Dale E. Cunningham, 69, of Newton, died Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home. No services have been scheduled at this time. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton is handling the arrangements.
Dale, the son of William “Bill” and Alberta (Jagerson) Cunningham, was born June 22, 1956. He grew up in Searsboro and graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School in 1974. He was united in marriage with Lisa M. Verdeck. Dale worked for The Maytag Company in Newton for over 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was a licensed pilot and frequently flew with his brother. In his younger years, Dale raced motocross and was a boxer. He and Lisa became certified scuba divers in the early 1990s and enjoyed diving at several tropical locations they had visited. Dale had been a member of the UAW Local 997 and the Izaak Walton League.
Dale is survived by his nephew, Travis (Maria) Cunningham of Victor, and their children, Dylan and Hunter Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lisa; and his brother, LaVerne Cunningham.
