David’s graveside service will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 5th at the Bethel Cemetery in rural Lynnville. Conducted by Chaplain Kevin Glesener, Lead Chaplain at Vermeer.
The family will greet friends with a lunch at 11:45 a.m., Monday, October 5th at the Family Christian Center in Lynnville.
Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery in rural Lynnville.

David L. Schippers, the son of Louis and Annie DePenning Schippers was born on December 7, 1940 in rural Reasnor, Iowa.
On March 24, 1961, David was united in marriage with Shirley K. Rozendaal in Sully, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Malinda “Mindy” and Todd. David had been a welder and material handler at Farmland in Grinnell and at Vermeer Corporation in Pella. He had enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
David died on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. He was 79. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor David’s memory are his wife of 59 years, Shirley of Lynnville; daughter, Malinda “Mindy” Schippers of Overland Park, Kansas, son, Todd Schippers (Geneva Mitchell) of Searsboro; his granddaughter, Brooke White of Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Phyllis Ditch of Marion; sister-in-law, Joan Rozendaal of Cedar Falls and several nieces and nephews.
