Donna M (Dillon) Jones

Donna Marie (Dillon) Jones, 75, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on January 16, 2024 in Newton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time at the funeral home. Memorials in Donna’s name may be left at the funeral home (checks made payable to Clyde Jones).  

Donna was born to Donald and Virginia (Alexander) Dillon on September 22, 1948 in San Jose, California. At a young age her family moved to Des Moines, where Donna graduated from Lincoln High School. Donna met her husband Clyde Jones in 1964. They were married on October 8, 1966 in Des Moines. They lived in California for two years while Clyde served in the US Army. Clyde and Donna had two children and made their home in Newton. Donna worked at Kmart, Diamond Crystal Foods, and Hormel Foods.  She enjoyed collecting antiques and loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Donna is survived by her husband, Clyde; her children, Curt (Kim) Jones of Grinnell and Sheila (Ervan) DeVore of Monroe; three grandchildren, Erica, Riley, and Ryan; brother, Donald Dillon; sister, Virginia Majava; brother-in-law, Keith (Sue) Jones; and several nieces and nephews.  Donna was preceded in death by her father and mother.
