Donna C Walsh

   It is with sadness we announce the passing of Donna C. Walsh of Newton. She passed away July 14, 2024, at the age of 95. A graveside service will occur this fall at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Georgetown, Iowa. 

   Donna was born November 7, 1928, in Newton, to Cloyd and Lorraine (Hopwood) Fahrney. She graduated from Newton High School in 1947.  On February 15, 1951, she married Edward P. Walsh in Centerville, Iowa.  In 1978, they retired to a farm near Melrose, Iowa.  Donna loved farm life, especially the gardening, flowers, and wildlife.  They also became snowbirds and spent many happy winters in Arizona.  In 2006, the couple moved to Newton. In December 2022, Donna moved to Newton Village.

   Donna is survived by her daughters, Jane (Don) Enwright of Bainbridge Island, Washington and Patience Walsh of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; and her grandchildren, Rory Enwright, Caitlin Enwright, and Matt (Ashley) Dorr. She doted on her 2 great-granddaughters, Olivia and Lily Dorr.

   Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
