Edward Ronald Gilkison Jr.

Edward Ronald Gilkison Jr., 59, of Colfax, died on Monday, July 15, 2024 at MercyOne Des Moines. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 beginning at 1 p.m. at 300 S Kelly Lot 12 in Colfax, Iowa. Memorials in Edward’s name (checks payable to Evelyn Hunsucker) may be left at the celebration of life or at Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Edward, the son of Edward Ronald Sr. and Lois (Sieberling) Gilkison, was born on December 6, 1964 in Newton, Iowa. He worked for Bailey Roofing as a roofer and enjoyed fishing, sitting under mom’s carport, and smoking his cannabis.

Edward is survived by his mother, Lois Gilkison; children, Brandy Gilkison, Michael Gilkison, and Julie Gilkison; siblings, Evelyn Hunsucker, Cindy South, Linda Haines, Darlene Lantz, Donald Elmer Miller Jr., Scott Alspach, and Terry Gilkison; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Steven Gilkison; and nephew, Tony Gilkison.
