Edward "Ed" Raymond Moore, Sr.

Edward “Ed” Raymond Moore, Sr., 70, of Newton, died on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his home in Newton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Community Heights Alliance Church. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials in Ed’s name (checks made payable to Vicki Moore) may be left at the church the morning of the service or at the funeral home.

Ed, the son of Edward Bethel and Jean (Hobbs) Moore, was born on July 27, 1951, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1969. On December 20, 1991, Ed was united in marriage with Vicki Baxter. Ed worked as a machinist and mechanic, but he was passionate about drumming and singing. He shared his talents at Community Heights Alliance Church, among other places, using his gifts to praise God. Ed also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. His family will remember him as a great teacher, especially when it came to the Bible.

Ed is survived by his wife, Vicki Moore of Newton; sons, Eddie Moore, Jr., Randy Moore, Taylor Moore, and Chad Jochems all of Newton; daughters, Kari (Al) Parker and Lacey (Brett) Bozarth both of Newton; grandchildren, Kelsie Moore, Albie Parker, Elliott Moore, Brenden Moore, Landon Bozarth, Haleigh Bozarth, Leighton Jochems, Kaylee Moore, Hendrix Moore, and Allie Moore; and great-grandchild, Albie Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cynthia Berka; brother, Garry Moore; and nephew, Derek Moore.
