Everett LaVerne Wallace, Jr., 84, of Newton, died Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at State Center Specialty Care. Private family services will be held. Cards and memorials can be sent to the family or to the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
Everett, the son of Everett LaVerne, Sr. and Ellen Mae (Sanders) Wallace, was born October 7, 1940, in Red Oak. He graduated from Saydel High School in 1959. As an adult, he lived in Arizona for several years, where he worked as a truck driver for the hot stick crew for Arizona Public Service. He later lived in Colfax, where he built his own home after a house fire destroyed his previous residence. For the last 15 years, Everett lived in Newton. He enjoyed bowling, flying remote planes, old cars, fishing, and collecting guns. He was quiet and easy going but he liked getting together for coffee with several of his colleagues.
Everett is survived by his significant other, Janice Williams of Newton; his children: J. Bryan Williams, Eric T. (Kelly) Wallace, Kevin Wallace, and Nicholas (Brandy) Wallace; 8 grandchildren: Todd (Samantha) Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Katlynn Wallace, BryAnn Williams, Madison Wallace (Dylan Stoulil), Ashlyn Wallace, Madden Wallace, and Kaislee Wallace; his great-grandchildren: Anna and Henry Wallace, Joselynn Wallace, Braylin, Gracee, and Brayden Gittins, and Astrid and Ember Stoulil. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian; daughter, Laurie; a great-grandson, Asher Stoulil; and his brother, E. Leslie Mahlon Wallace (Dorothy).
