Francine R. Ingersoll, 92, of Bondurant, formerly of Newton and Waukee, died on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Courtyard Estates in Bondurant. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 16, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Masks will be required to attend the services. Memorials in Francine’s name (checks made payable to Melanie Carr) may be left at the funeral home.
Francine, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Tinnes) Van Arkel, was born on May 8, 1928. She moved to Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1945. Francine worked various jobs through the years, but really enjoyed her 30 years doing taxes at H& R Block. Francine loved spending time with her children and especially liked watching them compete in horse shows. She also liked spending time at her cabin on the Mississippi River; fishing and boating.
Francine is survived by three children, Melanie (Brock) Carr of Jefferson City, Missouri, Michael Pender of Baxter, and M. Jon Pender of Burlington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and her daughter-in-law, Glenda Eisbrenner of Altoona. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marty Pender; brother, Eldon Van Arkel; and significant other of 20 years, Floyd Hoskins.
