Isaac Lee Gilpin

Isaac Lee Gilpin, 34, of Newton died on Sunday, December 14, 2025.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2025, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Memorials in Isaac’s name (checks made payable to Lucas Gilpin) may be left at the funeral home.

Isaac, the son of Thomas and Laura (Rickerd) Gilpin, was born on December 26, 1990, in Newton.  He graduated from Grinnell High School in the Class of 2009.  Isaac had a strong friend group that liked to game together.  He also enjoyed working on cars and going fishing.

Isaac is survived by his brother, Lucas (Scena) Gilpin of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five nieces and nephews, Sky Valdez, Ava Gilpin, Joaley Schaffer, Clara Gilpin, and Thomas Gilpin; and two aunts, Marilyn Gilpin of Newton and Margaret Gilpin-Lambertus of Newton.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
