James Thomas Crall, 82, of Newton died on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Accura Health Care Center. No services are scheduled. Memorials in James’ name (checks made payable to Theresa Sponseller) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
James, the son of Cecil and Agnes (Huntta) Crall, was born on April 26, 1942 in Lovilia. He grew up in the Albia/Lovilia area, where he also graduated from high school. James served his country in the Army National Guard, being discharged on January 2, 1969. He later moved to Newton to work at the Maytag Company. James was united in marriage with Linda Fifer in Newton. They were blessed with one daughter, Theresa. After a long career at Maytag, James retired in the late 1990’s. In years past James enjoyed hunting and liked to reminisce about guns and hunts he had gone on.
James is survived by his wife, Linda Crall of Newton and his daughter, Theresa (Brad) Sponseller of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
