Jimmy, the son of James and Violet M. (Lewis) Fallon, was born on January 17, 1943, in Lovilla. He grew up in Lovilla before moving to Arkansas as a teen. A few years later they moved back to Iowa. On June 11, 1966, Jimmy was united in marriage to Kathleen Haines in Albia. He began working at the Maytag Company in Newton in 1968 and two years later they would move to Newton. He retired from Maytag after 30 years of service in 1998. Jimmy was a member of the UAW Local 997 and the Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, coffee time with “the boys”, and taking his ’66 Chevelle to car shows. Jimmy loved to go on drives and walks, stopping to chat with everyone. He enjoyed spoiling the kids in the neighborhood or at the store with a piece of candy or even slipping them a dollar or two from his wallet. Jimmy never knew a stranger.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Kim Fallon of Des Moines and Jamie Fallon of Newton; granddaughter, Riley (Garret) McLaughlin of Urbandale; and his sister, Mary (Gerald) Kile of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen in 2019; a grandson, Gaige Anderson; and his siblings, Eddie Fallon and Delores Piechocki.
