Jeanette A (Whitehead) Osborn

Jeanette A. Osborn, 89, of Marion died on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 23, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. The family will greet friends after the service with a lunch at the funeral home.  Memorials in Jeanette’s name (checks to Roger Osborn) may be left at the funeral home.

Jeanette, the daughter of Glen and Ethel (Beals) Whitehead, was born on March 25, 1934 in Colfax.  Growing up and even in adulthood, Jeanette lived in many places around Iowa. On August 2, 1951, Jeanette was united in marriage with Oliver Osborn in Laurel. Jeanette was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards, and going to garage sales.  She also liked attending the Cowboy Church in Newton.  Most important to her was the time spent with her family and friends.

Jeanette is survived by her son, Roger (Loraine) Osborn of Marion; grandchildren, Kevin Osborn (Sara), Justin (Alison) Osborn, and Seth Osborn; great-grandchildren, Mykayla, Leah, and Gatlin Osborn; great-great-grandchild, Kayden; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerrold (Kathy) Osborn; and a special friend, Wilbur Frerichs.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; daughter, Dixie Osborn; and brother, Don Whitehead.
