Jeffrey Woodyard

  Jeffrey Richard Woodyard, 85, of Newton, Iowa, passed away on March 23, 2026.  Jeffrey was born on September 5, 1940, to Lacy Juanita Woodyard and Hames William Woodyard. Jeffrey lived a very full life. He had a love for model cars, his hat collection, and music (especially Shania Twain.) You could always catch him watching Dateline, eating ice cream or drinking one of his favorite sodas. Jeff had a contagious laugh and a one-of-a-kind smile that could melt your heart. He was a tender soul and a bit of a ladies’ man. He lived life to the fullest and overcame all odds. Over the years he became so well-known and deeply loved by everyone who met him. Jeff made people feel seen and cared for. Jeffrey will be missed by all who knew him.

   Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Woodyard; his father, James “Cotton” Woodyard; and his brother, Philip Woodyard.

  He is survived by his niece, Angela Woodyard; great-nephews and nieces; his cousin, Roger Watson; and nephews: Jim (Shannon) Woodyard, Tim (Christie) Woodyard, and John Warren. There are so many caregivers that have taken such good care of Jeff over the years that there are too many to name. The family would like to thank all of them for always being there for Jeff and loving him the way they did.

   A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Accura of Newton East in Newton.
