Jessie M Ferguson

Jessie Maria Ferguson, 60, of Newton died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her home.  A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jessie’s name (checks made payable to Amber Van Brogen) may be left at the funeral home.

Jessie, the daughter of Richard Ray and Laura Lee (Keely) Ferguson, was born on April 29, 1964, in St. Josesph, Missouri. At the age of 17, she moved to Newton, Iowa with her family and was in the Newton High School class of 1982. Jessie was united in marriage with Jason Winchell on September 6, 1996, in Newton. She worked at McDonalds and had an in-home daycare business.  She enjoyed music, spending time with family, and was an avid KC Chiefs fan.

Jessie is survived by her three children, Nycole Huffaker, Amber (Jerry) Van Brogen, and Aaron (Jessica) Winchell; grandchildren, Kohlton, Madison, Taja, Tessalyn, Drayton, Taighlynn, Killian, Telia, Ronin, and Aiden; her siblings, Donna, Carol, Trish, Melissa, Michelle, Jennifer, and Merritt; step-mother, Carol Ferguson; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and former spouse, Jason Winchell.
