Kaitlyn Elizabeth Free

Kaitlyn Elizabeth Free, 25, of Newton died on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.  A private family service will be held. Memorials in Kaitlyn’s name to be used for her children may be left at the funeral home (checks made payable to Joe or Amy Free).

Kaitlyn, the daughter of Joseph and Amy (Woody) Free, was born on August 24, 1995 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 2014. While in high school Kaitlyn worked in the floral department at Hy-Vee and then later at Progress Industries and Windstream. Kaitlyn loved to cook and bake and was especially good at making homemade biscuits.  She also loved Christmas time, crafting, and time with her children. 

Kaitlyn is survived by her children, Mason Lloyd, Logan Joseph, and Kayleigh Elizabeth; parents, Joe and Amy Free of Newton; brothers, John Free of Newton and Andrew Free (Candice McDonald) of Newton; niece, Adalynn; her grandfather, Michael Free of Newton; uncles, an aunt, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Janis Free and maternal grandparents, Delmar and Patricia Woody.
