Karen, the daughter of Richard and Maxine (Emmack) Sille, was born April 7, 1950, in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1968. Karen was very passionate about the landscaping in her yard, keeping her many plants and flowers looking beautiful. She was also fond of the tiny Yorkies that were her companions throughout the years. Karen was a loyal, caring person who kept many friendships. She was someone who put full effort into whatever she decided to do.
Karen is survived by her sisters: Ruby Veber of Ankeny, Mary Lou Villafuerte of Omaha, and Donita (Dave) Carpenter of Bondurant; her lifelong friend, Jane Lawton of Australia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sheryl Van Veen; and 3 brothers-in-law.
