Kashton Johnson Obituary

Kashton Richard Johnson, 5 months, died on Friday, July 30, 2021, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. A celebration of life visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, August 8, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. A balloon release will follow in the north lawn of the funeral home. Memorials to the Blank Children’s Hospital NICU may be left at the funeral home.

Kashton, the son of Courtney and Morgan Johnson, was born on February 7, 2021, in West Des Moines. He was a sweet, lovey baby who loved to scream and giggle.  Things that made him happy included bath time, swimming in the family pool, watching the trees, his bouncer and Facetime.  His giraffe and Slothy were never far from his side.  And although he loved the water, it better be hot and not cold, because he did not like it cold. He also wasn’t a fan of peaches or sleeping when his parents wanted him to.

Kashton is survived by his parents, Courtney and Morgan Johnson; grandparents, Todd and Teresa Meyer, Richard and Diane Johnson, and Teresa and Steve Poschke-Moore; great-grandparents, Durella Meyer, Leslie Van Hoosen, Patricia and Richard Johnson, and Carolyn and Byrl Moore; his great-great-grandma, Doris Moore; aunts and uncles, Caitlyn Meyer (Mike Bastow), Clay Meyer, Brandon Johnson, Sophie Johnson, Ian Johnson, Marisa Kerr, Ashlynn Wilken, and Haylea Wilken; and his many cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Richard Meyer and Charles Van Hoosen.
