Keith Ivan Wood, 85, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on August 18, 1940, in Missouri, Keith was the son of Ernest and Genevieve Wood of La Plata, Missouri. He lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, friendship, and a deep love for his family.
Keith proudly served in the National Guard and built a successful career in HVAC sales and service with Brookwood, Inc. of Newton, Iowa. He was respected for his expertise, dedication, and willingness to help others.
Above all, Keith was a family man who loved Jesus. He was deeply devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Keith was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church.
Keith was loved by everyone who knew him and was often known simply as “Dad” to many of his children’s friends, who found in him a source of guidance, support, and friendship. His kindness and sense of humor left a lasting impression on countless lives.
Keith had a lifelong passion for horses, including training and showing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, and coaching boxing. He brought enthusiasm, humor, and encouragement to every person whose life he touched.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Karen Rouse Wood; his daughter, Kina Wood of Pella, Iowa; his sons, Shannon Wood of Reasnor, Iowa and Monty (“Sis”) Jackson of Connelsville, Missouri; his sister, Delores Clem of Omaha, Nebraska; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, E. Everett Wood; his daughter, Bambi (Nevitt) Wood; his son, Rob Jackson; and his grandson, Timmy Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in his memory.
