Kevin James Beck, 50, of Reasnor died on Monday, February 5, 2024. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. Memorials in Kevin’s name (checks made payable to Jan McClelland) may be left at the funeral home.
Kevin, the son of Roger and Janis (Johnson) Beck, was born along with his twin brother, Ryan, on August 23, 1973 in Edina, Minnesota. He began his schooling in the small town of Isanti, Minnesota. In 1982, Kevin, his brothers, and his mother moved to Indianola, Iowa. Kevin was a graduate of Indianola High School in 1992. During high school and for several years after, he worked at the Indianola movie theater. Kevin later trained to be an electrician and worked for Baker Electric for many years. Most recently, he was working year-round at Adventureland in the maintenance and electrical department.
Kevin was a very caring and loving son, brother, and friend. He had a hard time saying “no” to people who asked him to help them. Kevin was teaching himself how to play the guitar and enjoyed as he would say, “finally recognizing what he was playing.” Kevin was very soft-hearted and didn’t like to see people or animals harmed. He wouldn’t even kill a mouse or spider that got in the house. He’d carry them outside because he believed every person and creature deserved a second chance.
Kevin is survived by his twin brother, Ryan Beck; brother, Mike (Carrie) Beck; and his mother, Jan (Dick) McClelland. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Beck in 1977.
