Kevin Lee Grandstaff, 61, of Des Moines died on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Kevin’s name (checks made payable to Cory Lister) may be left at the funeral home.
Kevin, the son of Roy and Marilyn (Finley) Grandstaff, was born on August 13,1963 in Iowa City, Iowa. He grew up in Jasper County and graduated from Monroe High School. Kevin took pride in his work holding several leadership positions during his many years of service at Pizza Hut and later at Murphy USA. He also enjoyed helping his family sell racing t-shirts at the Knoxville Raceway. For the last 30 years, Kevin has lived in Des Moines and liked spending time with his family.
Kevin is survived by his sisters, Kathi (Dale) Harris of Des Moines, Sandy Malone of Florence, Alabama, Barb (Dennis) Slater of Des Moines, and Heidi Shultz of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers, James “Jim” Smith of Tiffin and Tony Smith of Eldon, Missouri; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike Smith and Rick Grandstaff; and a niece, Heather Lister.
