Kurtis R Peterson

Kurtis “Kurt” R. Peterson, 59, of Newton died on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at his home. No services will be held at this time.  The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.

Kurt, the son of Edward and Dixie (Westercamp) Peterson, was born on July 18, 1961 in Newton.  He graduated from Newton High School in 1980. Kurt lived most of his life in Newton, but traveled extensively with his job as a Pipefitter. He enjoyed building things, racing, and horse-trading.  

Kurt is survived by his mother, Dixie Peterson of Newton; son, Christopher (Elizabeth) Johnson of Runnells and their children, Cameron, Preston, and Julia; siblings, Corey Peterson of Newton and Kelly Peterson of Texas; his nephew, Josh (Melissa) Peterson of Newton; great-nephew and nieces, Cameron Smith (Riley Versteegh), Anissa Smith, and Rylinn Peterson; and his great-great-niece, River Smith.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edward “Ed” Peterson; brother, Troy Peterson; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
