Larry Lee Berkenbosch, 66, of Newton died at his home on May 8, 2020. A private family graveside service will be held at Hewitt Cemetery at a later date. Memorials to the Knoxville Raceway Charitable Organization may be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Larry, the son of Harold and Dorothy (McKay) Berkenbosch, was born on July 25, 1953 in Centerville. He grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1972. Larry was a truck driver and had worked for Heartland Co-Op and Barney’s Wrecker and Crane for many years. Larry was an avid NASCAR and Sprint Car fan. He enjoyed reading, holidays with family, eating out and taking rides. Larry was meticulous with his yard and truly enjoyed mowing.

Larry is survived by his siblings, Sandy (Tim) Morgan of Newton and David (Darlene) Berkenbosch of Newton; niece, Lauren (Matt) Buffington of Bondurant; and two nephews, Andy Berkenbosch of Ira and Bradley Berkenbosch of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
