Lloyd Garr

Lloyd Garr, 59, of Newton died Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Lloyd’s name (checks payable to Chaya Haldeman) may be left at the funeral home.

Lloyd, the son of Junior and Norma (Ibbotson) Garr, was born May 15, 1964 in Newton, Iowa. He was born and raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School. Lloyd worked as a handyman throughout his life, doing everything from roofing to carpeting to car repair.

Lloyd is survived by his niece, Chaya “Quinn” Haldeman of Newton; nephew Patrick Garr of Newton; and his best friend and friend of the family, Roger. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Sandra Garr.
