Lois Ann Shaver, 71, of Newton died on Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials in Lois’ name may be left at the funeral home (checks to Misty Carlton).
Lois, the daughter of Melvin and Lois (Buswell) Healey, was born on January 22, 1955, in Grinnell. She grew up in Victor and graduated from HLV in 1973. Lois moved to Newton shortly after. She worked at McDonalds for 25 years, retiring in 2023. During that time, she had also been a cook at Palmas and Perkins. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved her family and took great care of them including cooking their favorite meals.
Lois is survived by her children, Ken Shaver of Newton and Misty Carlton of Newton; grandchildren, Taylor (Lynn) Shaver, Trilynn Shaver, Hayley (Trey) Enloe, Stacie Martinez, Charlene Brown, Logan Shaver, Jaycee Shaver, and Brooklyn Rogers; her seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Walters, Kevin (Carol) Healey, Rebecca (Gary) Hagen, and Deb Seckar; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Shaver; daughter, Terri Rogers; and a brother, Melvin “Butch” Healey.
