Lynnette C. Brodrick, 74, of Newton died on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Newton Health Care Center. A public visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The visitation will be followed by a graveside service at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
Lynn, the daughter of Joseph Albert and Gloria (Rasmussen) Dellaert, was born on September 27, 1945 in Aurora, Illinois. She grew up and graduated from high school in Wheaton. On January 14, 1966, Lynn was united in marriage with Harry Brodrick in Wheaton. They made their home in Wheaton and Evanston; while Lynn was working at Coronet Insurance as an Administrative Assistant. In 1996, they moved to Newton, Iowa. In Newton, Lynn was a member of the Newton Piecemakers Quilting Guild and a knitting guild. She enjoyed genealogy, reading, gardening, and sewing.
Lynn is survived by her step-children, Carolyn Brodrick Quinn of Schaumburg, Illinois and Chuck (Tammie) Yabuta-Brodrick of Roselle, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Collin Quinn, Keith Yabuta-Brodrick, Meagan Quinn, Jackie (Bob) Renella, and Ryan Quinn; step-great-grandchildren, Molly and Clary; her siblings, Joseph Dellaert, Leslee Dellaert, and Judith Dellaert; two nieces, Lee Ann and MaryAnn; and her close friend, Grace Reinier. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harry in 2015.
