Remember me
not in the shadows I fell into,
but in the light, I once carried.
Before the nights got heavy
and the world pulled me under,
I was laughter in the kitchen,
warm hands brushing your hair,
a voice that knew your name
like it was the only word that mattered.
I was softer then, not perfect, no, far from
but I was trying in ways you couldn’t always see.
Life can twist a soul,
bend it into shapes it never meant to hold.
And I… I lost pieces of myself
trying to survive storms
I didn’t know how to outrun.
But you
you were never part of my falling.
You were the part of me
that still believed in something better.
So, when you think of me,
don’t let the ending
erase the beginning.
Remember the love I gave you
in the moments I could,
the way I looked at you
like you were my second chance at everything.
Remember me
for who I was
before I forgot how to be her.
Love , Kayla
