Mandi (Amanda) House, 45, of Mingo died on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at her home. A celebration of Mandi’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 29, at the Mingo Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mandi’s name (checks made payable to Mike or Rosie House) may be left at the celebration or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mandi, the daughter of Mike and Rosie House was born on April 29, 1980, in Cedar Rapids. In 1985, the family moved to Colfax and then in 1994 to Mingo. Mandi was in the first Kindergarten class that started at the consolidated Colfax-Mingo schools; graduating in the Class of 1998. In 2005, she received her Registered Nursing Degree from Mercy College of Health Sciences. Mandi worked in critical care and as a life flight nurse for much of her nursing career. Her most recent nursing job was with Mobile Medical Care, where she would provide on-site care and training at area construction sites.
Mandi enjoyed her work as a volunteer with the Mingo Fire Department. She also loved her kitty of 17 years, Tiaga. Mandi’s favorite times were spent with family and friends especially if it included enjoying the sunshine at the pool or beach.
Mandi is survived by her parents, Mike and Rosie House of Mingo and her siblings, Dan House of Mingo and Sarah House of Baxter. She was preceded in death by her brother, Christian House and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
