Marcia K (Fleming) Brown

Marcia Kathleen Brown, 77, of Newton, formerly of Grinnell, died on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Valley Vista Nursing Home and Rehab in Newton.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Memorials in Marcia’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Marcia, the daughter of John Joseph and Margaret Ann (Roe) Fleming, Sr., was born on July 30, 1948, in Grinnell. She grew up and attended school in Grinnell.  Later in life, she moved to Newton with her family. Marcia owned Ma and Pa’s Tap in Kellogg and later bartended at the Shamrock, the Double D, and the Manhattan.  Marcia was very intrigued by aliens and enjoyed blacklight coloring.  She also loved to be outdoors, fishing and flower gardening.  Most of all Marcia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loving her cats. Marcia lived life her way and no one could tell her any different.

Marcia is survived by her three children, Julie Dickerson, Jeannette (David) Mulbrook, and Marvin (Rose) Allspach III, all of Newton; grandchildren, Laura (Travis) Huff, Lisa Dickerson, Junior Dickerson, Casandra (Matthew) Jasso, and Emily (Derek) Henderson; her 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Patty Lust, Pat (Jane) Fleming, Mike (Roni) Fleming, Mary (James) Duke, and Anna (Bill) Dayton; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Danny Fleming; nieces, Peggy and Nicole; and a great-grandson, Emerson.
