Margaret Ann (Johnstone) Jensen

Margaret Ann Jensen, 79, of Newton died on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Izaak Walton League. Memorials to the American Heart Association may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. 

Margaret, the daughter of John R. and H. Lucile (French) Johnstone, was born on March 9, 1942 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School. Margaret was united in marriage with David R. Jensen on September 2, 1961, at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Margaret worked in sales and marketing at Newton Manufacturing for many years.  She was active in the United Presbyterian Church, Quilt Guild, and the Oak Ridge Grange. Margaret enjoyed traveling, quilting, and horses. 

Margaret is survived by her children, JoAnne (Mike) Holcomb of Rock Island, Illinois and Mike Jensen of Newton; siblings, Craig (Jan) Johnstone of Grinnell, Mark Johnstone of Lacona, and Janice Hendricks of Pella; and her nieces and nephews, Andy, Todd, Carol, and Christine. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Jensen; a niece, Vandi; and a nephew, Jay.
