Margaret "Maggie" Louise (Solasberry) Hindman

Margaret “Maggie” Louise Hindman, 64, of Newton died on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at her home. No services are scheduled at this time.

Maggie, the daughter of Richard Eugene and Juanita Louise (Hotopp) Solasberry, was born on February 10, 1962, in Des Moines.  She grew up in Colfax before moving to Newton.  She graduated from Newton High School in 1981.  Maggie was united in marriage with Scott Hindman in August of 1983 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  Maggie was a stay-at-home mom, raising the couple’s two children and worked part time at local restaurants. She enjoyed collecting elephants.  Maggie’s greatest love though was her grandchildren.

Maggie is survived by her husband, Scott Hindman of Newton; children, Pat (Cassie) Hindman of Hawkeye and Erika Hindman of Newton; her grandchildren, Madilyn, Penelope, and Bear; one brother; and three sisters.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
