Mary Janet Moxley, 98, of Newton died on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Newton Village. Services are pending at this time.

Mary Janet, the daughter of William and Edith Thelma (Thomas) Trotter, was born on April 1, 1923 in Newton. She was a lifelong resident of the Newton area and graduated from Newton High School in 1941. Mary Janet was united in marriage with Haydn Moxley on November 1, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her yard and flowers.

Those left to honor Mary Janet’s memory are her children, Billie Sue (Bill) Breckenridge of Joplin, Missouri, Edward Moxley (Elizabeth Kopecky) of Ames; grandchildren, Morgan Moxley, Janette Rector, and Todd Breckenridge; and her great-granddaughter, Dr. Hannah Rector. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Haydn; and three sisters.
