Mary Alice (Czerwiec) Schroder

Mary Alice Schroder, 70, of Newton died on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Valley Vista Nursing and Rehab.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends immediately following the service with a coffeetime at the funeral home.  Memorials to Lucy’s Pet Pantry may be left at the funeral home.

Mary, the daughter of Bruno Michael and Vivian (Morgan) Czerwiec, was born on October 11, 1955, in Newton.  She attended Newton Community Schools, graduating in 1973.  Mary was united in marriage with Bruce Schroder on December 30, 1977, in Newton.   She worked at Perkins and Pizza Hut for many years.  Mary loved her family and found great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed watching birds. Mary’s faith was important to her, and she attended Grace Church in Newton.

Mary is survived by her children, Veronica (Patrick) White of Newton, Melissia (Shawn) Schroder Lane of Newton, and Raymond (Kaylee) Schroder of South Dakota; grandchildren, Michael (Sierra) White, Michelle White, Destin (Elena) Schroder, Vivian (Devonn) Valefern, Samantha Lane, Blakely Schroder, Rory Schroder, Avery Schroder, and Casey Schroder; her great-grandchildren, Theodore, Lincoln, Zion, Wesley, and one more on the way; and her three brothers, Rick (Pam) Czerwiec, Dean Czerwiec, and Michael Czerwiec.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce Schroder, Sr.; son, Bruce Schroder, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Gracie Schroder.
