Matt, the son of Edwin Andrew and Sandra Patricia (Hurley) Reuwsaat, was born September 29, 1963, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1982. He worked at Warrick Motors in Newton for several years before moving to Iowa City. He most recently was working as a diesel mechanic in Iowa City. Matt was united in marriage with his soulmate, Christine Schomberg, on May 1, 2015, in Iowa City. Matt had a kind heart, always willing to help anyone he could, no matter how well he knew them. He never expected anything in return from those he helped. He also had a talent for fixing things and was willing to tackle any repairs.
Matt is survived by his wife, Chris Reuwsaat of Iowa City; his daughter, Alina Reuwsaat (Anthony Tasso) of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Austin, Michael, and Jackson Reuwsaat; his sister, Sandra (Mark) Grunsted of Newton; and several nieces and nephews, including Heather (Jody) Wenzel of Dexter. Matt’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at The University of Iowa Hospitals for all their care for Matt and his family.
