Michael “Mike” Rudolph Griffith, 60, of Newton died on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Believers in Grace United Pentecostal Church in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, June 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Mike’s name (checks to Nancy Griffith) may be left at the church the day of the service or at the funeral home.
Mike, the son of Charles Frederick and Beverly Ann (Mayer) Griffith, Sr. was born on June 30, 1962 in Davenport. He grew up in Davenport and later moved to Marshalltown to work at Swift. On April 21, 2010, Mike was united in marriage with Nancy Jo Ann Oswalt in Silvis, Illinois. After making their home in that area for a short time they returned to Central Iowa. Mike had worked for Martin Marietta for several years and was most recently working as a truck driver for ATS. He was a member of Believers in Grace United Pentecostal Church. Mike enjoyed camping, watching Star Trek, and hanging out with his family and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy Griffith of Newton; children, Michael Griffith of Davenport, Daniel Griffith of Davenport, Samantha Roberts of Knoxville, Alexandria Roberts of Newton, and Dalton, Destiny, and Kaylee of Newton; his three grandchildren, Keegan, Annabelle, and Ryleigh; brothers, Chuck Griffith and Joseph Griffith, both of Davenport; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Garrells-Griffith of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Scott Griffith.
