Nathan “Nate” John Buhr, 32, of Newton died on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. No services will be held at this time. Memorials in Nate’s name (checks made payable to Megan Buhr) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Nate, the son of Terry and Brenda (Billingsley) Buhr, was born on July 12, 1988 in Pella. He grew up in Pella and Monroe, graduating from PCM High School. Nate later completed the joint welding program between DMACC and Vermeer. Nate was united in marriage with Megan Ocker on September 29, 2013, at Lake Keomah. They made their home in Newton. Nate enjoyed driving feed truck for Heartland CO-OP. He liked being outside and he loved learning. He always had a positive attitude and the best jokes!

Nate is survived by his wife, Megan Buhr of Newton; daughter, Ruby Buhr; parents, Terry and Brenda Buhr of Monroe; sister, Heather (Josh) Fryer of Oskaloosa; mother-in-law, Laura Ocker of Waterloo; and sister-in-law, Shelby Ocker of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
