Penny Lee (Allen) Adkins

Penny Lee (Allen) Adkins, 59, of Newton, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Penny’s name (checks made payable to Bart Adkins) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Penny, the daughter of Robert and Violet Pauline (Ball) St. Clair, was born on December 31, 1961, in Macomb, Illinois. She lived in many places throughout her life, including Louisiana and Florida, but she spent most of her life in central Iowa. On May 13, 2006, Penny was united in marriage with Bart Adkins in Polk County. Penny was artistic and loved writing and creating art. She had a green thumb and was passionate about gardening. Penny loved her family—including her pets—above all else.

Penny is survived by her husband, Bart Adkins of Newton; children, Jennifer Page of Des Moines, Eric Page of Allen, Nebraska, Nicholas Page of Newton, and Bobby Page of Newton; grandchildren, Haley Wolfe, Braydon Wolfe, Zoe, Aubrey Cook, Cobain Page, Kelley Page, Kai Page, Zane Michael Page, Kendrall Page, and one on the way, Sawyer Page; siblings, Steve Forbes, Debi Cosper, Julie (Jerry) Bates, Midge (Terry) Anderson, and Luther St. Clair; her “fur babies” Rover, Luke, and Pepper; and a big extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Robert Stine; and two sons in heaven.
