Penny Jo (Petrie) Stevens

Penny Jo (Petrie) Stevens, 52, of Newton, died Monday, May 25, 2020, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials to Penny’s family can be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Please make checks payable to Brandon Stevens. 

   Penny, the daughter of Fred and Naomi (Rawlins) Petrie, was born July 8, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Colfax and graduated from Colfax High School in 1985. She also received an associate's degree in Business Management.  She was united in marriage with Tony Stevens on April 19, 1997, in Newton.  She had worked as a home health aide for Cirsi. Penny enjoyed doing all sorts of craft projects.  

   Penny is survived by her children: Adam Petrie of Bennettsville, SC, Brandon Stevens of Newton, Jeremy Stevens (Kristin Story) of LeGrand, Samantha Sells of Colorado Springs, CO, Anthony (Candice) Stevens of Guernsey, Shawna Stevens of Colorado Springs, and Brandie Wood of Grinnell; 19 grandchildren; and her siblings:  Mark (Jeanie) Gebhart of Littleton, CO, Marla Petrie-Stevens of Victor, Mary Sliger of Newton, and Toby “Fred” (Yvette) Petrie of Madrid.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tony.
