Rachelle C. Deeter, 52, of Newton, died Friday, April 10, 2026, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Kiya Koda Humane Society can be left at the funeral home.
Rachelle, the daughter of Robert and Roberta (Fisher) Baker, was born December 26, 1973, in Oskaloosa. She graduated from Indian Hills Community College with a RN degree. Rachelle was united in marriage with Todd D. Deeter on October 15, 2006, at Lake Keomah. She had worked at Jiffy in Indianola and as a dispatcher for a mortuary transport service in Phoenix. Rachelle loved spending time with her family, going to Bucs hockey games, fishing, and hot air balloons. She loved to laugh and was always up for having fun. She always put other people ahead of herself.
Rachelle is survived by her husband, Todd of Newton; her children: Brittany (Andrew) Guiter of Pella and their children Briella, Oliver and Briar, Leah Boyer of Cedar Rapids, Preston (Kimberly) Edwards of Indianola and their children Maddie, Scarlett, Ella, Taysom, and Harper, Victoria (Derek) Skala of Marshalltown and their children Brooklyn, Trae, Iris, and Zelda, Sasha (Jacob) Schroeder of Boone and their daughter, Nevaeh, and Landon (Julie) Deeter of Marshalltown, and their son, Elijah; her brother, Jason Van Der Veer; her sister, Rebecca Baker; and her close friends, Megan, Char, and Helen. She was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Van Dusseldorp and her father, Robert Baker.
