Rana Carol Frisch

   Rana Carol Frisch, 50, of Kellogg, died Saturday, January 18, 2025.  A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held following the service at Discover Hope, 733 1st Ave E., Newton. Memorials in Rana’s name can be left at the funeral home. Please make checks payable to Sydney Frisch.

   Rana, the daughter of Jon Douglas and Ruth (Rigby) Frisch, was born December 29, 1974, in Des Moines.  She had worked at Firestone for several years. Rana was a gentle, but feisty woman. She was constantly welcoming her children’s friends into her home and would give anything she could to someone in need.  She was brave and quick-witted, never afraid to speak her mind—even if it landed her in Facebook jail. Rana enjoyed collecting things, especially crystals and was proud of her collection of Converse.  She was also known for mixing her “hocus pocus potions”, listening to Prince, her purple hair, and love of vibrant colors. She liked investigating conspiracy theories and wasn’t afraid to debate her views on them. She loved her flowers—IKYK.  Most of all, Rana loved her children and grandchildren fiercely, and they were the joy of her life.

   Those left to honor Rana’s memory include her children, Tyler (Hailey) Frisch of Newton and Sydney (Jake Mosqueda) Frisch of Altoona; her second children: Jazmine (Dustin), Kira (Christopher), Lazarus (Olivia), and Chance; her grandchildren: Layden, Leaiyah, Saint, Azaliya, Aiden, Ezra, Zypher, Ziza, Emersyn, Maddox, Ella, Easton, and Reece; her parents, Jon and Ruth Frisch; her sister, Jennifer (Ivan) Frisch; step-sister, Shawnee Sorenson; and her bestie, Rebecca McKenzie. 

   Rana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Phyllis and Dennis and Louis and Jody; her granddaughter, Zyla; and several aunts and uncles.
