Randall Craig Doty, 69, of Mingo died on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Mingo Community Center. A committal of his ashes will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Ashton Chapel Cemetery. Randy, the son of Kenneth and Marilyn (Maxwell) Doty, was born on March 27, 1954 in Des Moines. He lived most of his life in Mingo and graduated from Mingo High School in 1972. Randy was a truck driver for many years most recently for Fawn Engineering and Orr Trucking.  On March 23, 2018, Randy was united in marriage with Nhung Lovan in Des Moines.  Randy was ornery and always enjoyed playing pranks on his family and friends, but he also was the first one to lend a hand if someone was in need.  Randy liked colleting and restoring John Deere tractors.  He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and giving away his harvest to others.

Randy is survived by his wife, Nhung Lovan of Mingo; step-children, Dunny (Fred) Noble, Julia (Matthew) Goddard, and Rano (Laura) Lovan; his step-grandchildren, Naomi, Joseph, Paul, Emilia, and Leanne Sarah; siblings, Rhonda (John) Milligan of Mingo, Jodi (John) Maher of Newton, and K.C. (Chloe) Cleveland of Hawaii; and several nieces and nephews.    He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Doty and Marilyn Doty Brown and two brothers, Ed Doty and Bob Doty.
