Randy Peiffer

Randy Peiffer, 65, of Grimes, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. No services are scheduled at this time.

   Randy, the son of Delbert and Phyllis (Shafer) Peiffer, was born December 2, 1959, at Skiff Hospital in Newton.  Randy grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in the Class of 1978. Randy had lived in Grimes for many years, where he worked as a fabricator at Ryko Manufacturing for over 20 years before his retirement. Randy enjoyed collecting beer steins—a hobby which started in his younger years.  He also collected pencils and enjoyed building model cities.  He was a fan of college sports and loved cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

   Those left to honor Randy’s memory include his children, Tyler (Stacey) Peiffer of Grimes and Christina Peiffer of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Addison Peiffer, Jaxon Peiffer, AvaRae Kennedy, and Ashton King; his sisters, Tammy Peiffer of Newton and Sharon Mabie of Melbourne; the mother of his children and dear friend, Joan Breckenridge; and his nieces and nephews and their families.

   Randy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vicki Carter.
