Ronald "Ron" L. Kingery

Ronald “Ron” L. Kingery, 65, of Newton died on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Newton Health Care Center.  A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, January 9, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends after the service until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Ronald’s name (checks made payable to KaSandra Nielsen) may be left at the funeral home.

Ronald, the son of Harold and Judy (Damman) Kingery, was born on August 11, 1959, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1978. Ron then served his country in the United States Navy. In September of 1982, Ronald received a diploma in Printing from DMACC. He was a lifelong resident of Newton and had worked for Progress Industries for many years.  He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR races, and old westerns. He also loved cats and always owned at least two. 

Ronald is survived by his daughter, KaSandra (Brian) Nielsen of Des Moines; granddaughter, Taylor Nielsen; and two siblings, Judy (Eric) Eirikson of Albion and Dennis (Joyce) Kingery of Newton.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
