Samuel Steven Eggers, 33, of Newton died on Saturday, November 23, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to the Newton Parks and Recreation Department may be left at the funeral home.
Samuel, the son of Steve and Bobby (Witte) Eggers, was born on January 7, 1991 in Ames. He grew up in State Center and Nevada before moving to Newton where he would graduate in 2009 from Basics and Beyond. Samuel had worked as a bartender at the Newton Peanut Pub and for the last four years as a cook at Okoboji Grill/Legends. Samuel enjoyed skateboarding, playing disc golf, drawing, and spending time with family. He was an avid shoe collector and fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He also was a Certified Scuba Diver.
Samuel is survived by his father, Steve (Kristin) Eggers of Newton; mother, Bobby (Don) Moore of Ottumwa; sister, Sydney Byers (Brett Campbell); his step-siblings, Myles (Danielle) Bartlett and Tanner Bartlett; nephews and niece, Blane, Cal, Asher, Dallas, and Matthew; his maternal grandparents, Mary (Larry) Weber and Marion (Patricia) Witte; paternal grandparents, MaryBeth Eggers and Kay Rinehart; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Ross Eggers and maternal grandpa, Earl Moore.
