Sandra Lea Rozanski, age 83, of Newton, Iowa, passed away on August 5, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Sandy was born on May 31, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa. She was known for her feisty spirit, sharp tongue, and boisterous personality that could wake up a room. She enjoyed dancing in her youth and carried that same joyful energy throughout her life.
Sandy also loved golfing with Brian and friends, where you could count on her to “give it the onions” with every swing.
As a longtime resident of Newton she worked at several local businesses, including Aldi, Hy-Vee, and Drug Town, where she was a friendly and familiar face — though if she knew you well, you could count on her to give you a hard time (always with a grin).
She is survived by her husband, Brian Rozanski; her children, Kendi (Jeremy) Henley and Brad (Jacki) Tharp; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 24th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Murph & Mary’s in Newton, Iowa.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
