Sarah Lee Christian

Sarah Lee Christian, 61, of Otley, died on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Pella Comfort House. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the shop at her house at 1304 Dubuque Drive in Otley.  Memorials in her name may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.

Sarah, the daughter of William “Bill” and Donna (Yearns) Christian, was born on September 17, 1963, in Unionville, Missouri.  As a child she moved to Baxter where she would graduate from high school. Sarah received her AA from DMACC and also attended Bible College.  She lived in Newton for several years working at Perkins and then at Hansen Directory.  After meeting Darren Clausen in 2009, Sarah made her home with him in Monroe and then in rural Otley.  Most recently Sarah had worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Pella Regional Hospital.

Sarah was a member of the American Legion Post 111 Auxiliary.  She enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, and traveling.  Her favorite times were spent with her granddaughter, Mayarah.  Sarah was a wonderful person with a huge heart for others.

Sarah is survived by her significant other, Darren Clausen of Otley; daughter, Amanda (Daniel) Mendoza; her granddaughter, Mayarah Mendoza; siblings, Scott (Angie) Christian of Allerton, Ron (Tammy) Christian of Truro, Doug (Brandi) Christian of Allerton, and Mark Christian of Corydon; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her dad, William “Bill” Christian; mom and step-dad, Donna and Gerald Bucklin; and her brother, Bill Christian.
