Sherrie Dawson, 59, was born to Dean and Laura (Dykstra) Dawson on February 25, 1965 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She entered into rest on October 12, 2024 at her home in Newton. Those that are waiting to greet her are her father; sister, Debbie Dawson; grandparents, Laurel and Eloise Dykstra and Harold and Louise Dawson.
Those left to cherish her memory with love and all the good times shared with family and friends are her mother; son, Michael Talbot (Aaron Parcel); daughter, Stephanie Hodge; granddaughter, Kennady Hodge; brothers, Brian Dawson and Scott Dawson; her many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and her many friends.
She had a special place in her heart for them all but held an extra special place for her granddaughter, Kennady, who will truly miss her grandma.
Sherrie was an amazing woman with a great sense of humor who loved to laugh. She was full of creative ideas and always enjoyed participating in family holiday planning. The family could always look forward to her famous rainbow layered jello and her mystery white elephant gifts. She loved talking about gardening and cooking and it was well known not to bother her during an episode of Survivor or Big Brother.
Sherrie’s family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be a short time of sharing at the end of the visitation. Memorials may be left in Sherrie’s name to her children, Michael or Stephanie, and may be left at the funeral home.
