Shirley K. Schippers, 84, of rural Lynnville, died Sunday, March 8, 2026. Her family will greet friends from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Kellogg Grange (210 High St.). Memorials to the Mahaska Humane Society can be left at the visitation or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
Shirley was born on August 24, 1941, to John Rozendaal and Jerena Willemsen Rozendaal. She was united in marriage with Dave Schippers on March 24, 1961, and was blessed with a daughter, Mindy Schippers, a son, Todd Schippers, and a granddaughter, Brooke White. Shirley was the owner of First Choice Accounting and enjoyed many years of bookkeeping and income tax preparation. She enjoyed being the City of Kellogg Clerk for 40+ years, retiring on December 31, 2025.
Throughout her life, Shirley enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of her garden, and working with livestock on the farm. Her favorite dogs she raised were Bichon and Old English Sheepdogs.
Those left to honor Shirley’s memory are her daughter, Mindy; son, Todd (Genny); granddaughter, Brooke; and her sister, Joan Rozendaal. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dave; and brothers, Robert Rozendaal and James Rozendaal.
