Steven Troutner

   Steven G. Troutner, 75, of Newton, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Valley Vista Nursing and Rehab in Newton.  A private burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

   Steve, the son of Lester W. and Marine E. (Angel) Troutner, was born October 23, 1950, in Marshalltown. He grew up in LaMoille and graduated from State Center High School.  Steve then joined the U.S. Army, beginning a career that lasted decades.  Steve first retired to Yuma, Arizona, and later moved back to Iowa to enjoy cooler climates.  He enjoyed watching tv and listening to music—especially 60s music.

   Steve is survived by 2 sisters, Gloria Brown of Newton and Cherie Krough of Marshalltown; and 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Monica Ann Troutner; and 2 siblings, James Lester Troutner and Dolores Ann Nichol.
