Steven "Steve" M. Church

Steven M. “Steve” Church, the son of Irving M. and Vera H. Brain Church was born on January 9, 1945 in Newton, Iowa. He was a graduate of Newton High School in 1963. He also graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1967. Steve served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Steve was a Human Resources Manager for the Oryx Energy Company in Dallas, Texas. Steve loved his daughter and granddaughters. He attended every event his granddaughters had. Steve enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He enjoyed playing golf, especially with friendly wagers.

Steve died on Monday, March 30, 2020 at his home in Richardson, Texas. He was 75. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor Steve’s memory are his daughter, Cassie (Brian) Crummett of Pella; granddaughters, Alexis Baker and Brianna Crummett; his sister, Joyce (Gary) Bagnall of Johnston; and three nieces, Kim (Rob) Douglas of Ankeny, Amy (Dave) Van Blair of Ankeny and Kristi (Steve) Sterling of Ankeny; and his significant other, Virginia Waytena of Addison, Texas.
