Susan Ann Farrell, 74, of Newton, and formerly of Adel, died Monday, February 2, 2026, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. Services will be held at a later date.
Sue, the daughter of Leon and Phyllis (Pederson) Chandler, was born September 1, 1951, in Charles City. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1969 and then earned a degree in accounting. She had worked for Greyhound, Wells Fargo—where she retired from 2018, and numerous other small businesses. Sue enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Sue is survived by her children: Alyssa (Justin) Lewis of Colfax, Mike (Amanda) Farrell of Madrid, and Rich (Erin) Farrell of Palo; 7 grandchildren: Janell (Alex), Justin, Kaitlynn, Jacob, Aiden, Nicholas, and Kaden; 2 great-grandchildren, EllaRae and Simon; and her siblings: Karen (Gerald) Wessels, Donna (John) Fischbeck, and Lynn (Kelly) Chandler. She was preceded in death by her parents.
